Who is Dr. Nirav Patel?
Dr. Nirav Patel is an orthodontist and co-founder of Smilewave with over 15 years of practice. He graduated from Boston University Dental School and completed a 3-year orthodontic residency at Roseman University of Health Sciences.
Where are Smilewave Aligners & Braces clinics located?
We have two clinics in New Jersey: 1401 Stelton Rd, Piscataway NJ 08854 and 405 US-130, Suite B, East Windsor NJ 08520.
Are Smilewave Aligners suitable for teens and adults?

How treatment works
How does the Smilewave Aligner process work?
It takes five steps: schedule your free consultation, get a quick 3D intraoral scan, receive a custom treatment plan designed by Dr. Nirav, receive your custom 3D-printed aligners, and wear them on your way to a brilliant smile.
How long does Smilewave Aligner treatment take?
Most patients finish treatment in about 6 to 12 months, depending on their case. Dr. Patel will give you an estimate at your free consultation.
Do Smilewave Aligners require attachments or tooth filing?
No. Our system is designed to avoid attachments and to minimize or completely avoid tooth filing (IPR), so your aligners fit naturally and are easy to take out.
Will I need tooth extractions for aligner treatment?
In almost all cases, no. We plan your treatment to move your teeth without removing healthy teeth.
What technology does Smilewave use for treatment?
We use intraoral 3D scanners instead of messy molds, digital treatment planning, and custom 3D-printed aligners.

Are Smilewave Aligners comfortable to wear?
Yes. Each aligner is custom-fitted with smooth edges, and there are no brackets or wires to irritate your mouth.
Are Smilewave Aligners noticeable?
They are nearly invisible. Because nothing is bonded to your teeth, most people won’t notice you’re in treatment.
Can I eat and drink normally while using Smilewave Aligners?
Yes. Your aligners are removable, so take them out to eat or to drink anything other than water, then brush your teeth before putting them back in.
